On Thursday May 23rd, the Bethel College baseball program was thrust into the national spot-light when two former Pilot hurlers won big-league baseball games on the same day. It's a rare feat for any NAIA program is to have one "big leaguer" to play at the major league level. But to have two playing at the same time in unheard of. Masterson, who earned the nick-name "the BIg Nasty" for his remarkable ability to throw the ball past you, earned his second win of the season for the Cleveland Indians as he out-dueled former American League Cy Young Award winner Justin Verlander as the Indians defeated Detriot 2-1. Stults, a recent pickup by the San Diego Padres, earned his first win of the season last night as the Padres defeated the Mets 11-5. Stults gave up only one-unearned run and four hits, in five innings of work. The Pilots program is proud of the effort by its to MLB stars and want to remind you that the Bethel College -4-Day Summer Baseball Camp is coming up in June. It is a MUST place for your young baseball star to be a part of. 4-Day Summer Baseball Camp
