High School Football Honor Roll Week IV by Paul R. Condry

Columbus East's Shane Henderson had four receptions for 228 yards and scored three touchdowns as the Olympians defeated Jennings County 34-7. East QB Gunner Kiel was 7-of-9 passing for 304 yards and four touchdowns. Andrew Wilson rushed 11 times for 109 yards and a score to help the Olympions improve 3-1 on the year. Kiel on the campaign is 52-of-72 passing with 1,177 yards with 15 TDs and no interceptions. Henderson has hauled in 22 of the 28 balls thrown his way for 667 yards with seven scores. Henderson, a senior, is averaging 30 yards per catch, 56 yards per kickoff with 16 touchbacks and 41 yards per punt.

Washington reclaimed the Highway 57 Helmet with 48-7 win over North Daviess as versatile running back Joe McCormick racked up 87 rushing yards and 75 receiving yards on the night. McCormick is averaging 11.6 yards per rush and has racked up 650 yards in the first four games on 56 carries.

Elkhart Memorials Tyran Hansborough carried the ball 26 times for a game high 186 yards with a score as the Chargers rolled past Warsaw 20-7. Curtis Buford chipped in with 92 rushing yards on seven carries.

West Vigo erased a 22-point deficit on Friday to defeat Linton-Stockton 33-29. Lance Garrett rolled up 119 passing yards and 157 rushing yards in the win for the Vikings. Quarterback Austin Karazsia had 215 passing yards with a pair of scores for the Miners.

East Chicago Centrals Arion Clanton rushed 15 times for 142 yards and two scores as the Cardinals defeated Hammond Gavit 23-19. Clanton also had 55 kick-off return yards and had six tackles on defense in the win.

Evansville Memorial quarterback Dane Hurley rushed 13 times for 48 yards with two touchdowns and was 12-of-19 passing for 190 yards with a TD pass as the Tigers defeated Bosse 34-15. Bosses Jordan Diggs rushed for 178 yards and teammates Darrell Killebrew chipped in with 137 yards rushing and Jalen Pendleton added 100 rushing yards in the loss.

Bellmonts Daniel Meyer rushed 38 times for 171 yards and scored two TDs as the Braves raced past Norwell at the Horseshoe Hall of Fame Classic at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday. Meyer added five tackles on defense for the 3-1 Braves.

Rockville overcame a 22-7 halftime deficit, scoring 24 unanswered points in the second half to defeat Attica 31-22. Clint White led the Rox with two touchdown runs and threw for a third score.

Cardinal Ritter QB Jake Purichia was 13-of-23 passing for 208 yards with a pair scores as the Raiders outlasted Speedway 28-6 at the Horseshoe Hall of Fame Classic at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday.

Wawasees Trevor McKibben rushed 15 times for 105 yards and teammate Derick Sorsen added 146 yards as the Warriors defeated Garrett 26-21.

The Center Grove running back tandem of Jimmy Daggett (128 yards rushing and 57 receiving yards) and Chris Flowers (121 yards) led the Trojans to 30-7 win over Terre Haute North.

Wheelers Sam O'Shea was 15-of 26 passing for 249 yards and six touchdowns as the Bearcats drilled North Newton 49-6. Jake Hidalgo rushed for 125 yards and added 21 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Robert Hurd chipped in with 119 yards receiving and two touchdowns. In addition, David Bolla had 92 yards receiving and two scores. In the loss, Jakse Schuitema rushed for 200 yards for North Newton.

North Central Farmersburg's Zach Lyday threw for 539 yards and five touchdowns and five interceptions and North Vermillions Dalton McCool threw for 513 yards and five scores in a 40-34 shootout win for North Vermillion.

West Noble quarterback Bo Lutton was 8-of-11 passing for 121 with three TD passes as the Chargers upended Fairfield 35-28.

Carmels Scott Stilson was 12-of-14 passing for 128 yards and ran for a game-high 89 yards on 11 attempts, all in the first half of the Greyhounds 56-0 win over Terre Haute South.

Angolas Alexx Bauer racked up 329 yards passing with four touchdown passes as the Hornets stung Lakeland 33-26. Robby Boots hauled in seven of Bauers passes for 122 yards and a score.

Anderson picked up its second win of the year as Isaiah Johnson rushed for 162 yards and scored a touchdown as the Indians defeated Logansport 21-16.

Owen Valleys Evan White rushed 16 times for 141 yards and teammate Jonathan Hershberger carried 26 times for 107 yards as the Patriots edged Edgewood 14-13. Bryan Delos Santos recorded his third straight 100-yard rushing night with a 130 yard performance.

Centervilles Matt Schauss was 14-of-25 for 198 yards with four touchdowns as the Bulldogs defeated Cambridge City Lincoln 48-0. Collin Huffine tallied 102 yards on six receptions and the three scores and Bryce Vandevender rushed 18 times for 134 yards with two scores for Centerville in the game.

Northview quarterback Trent Lancaster completed 17-of-21 passing for 253 with three scores as the Knights flew past Sullivan 44-7.

Shenandoahs Zach Cole totaled 247 yards with 53 rushing, 28 receiving, and 166 on returns as the Raiders raced past Wes Del 68-0.

Andreans Mason Zurek, carried 23 times for 146 yards and three touchdowns in the 59ers' double overtime win over Munster.

Madison-Grants Neil Stevens rushed 27 times for 217 yards and two touchdowns and Cedric Presley added 145 yards on nine carries with a score as the Argylls beat Oak Hill 35-26. In addition, Tyler Young added 88 yards on seven carries and two touchdowns for Mad-Grant.

Bloomington South quarterback Michael Bower ran for 128 yards on 19 carries and two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score, against archrival Bloomington North. Bower, a junior, also threw for a touchdown as the Panthers erased a 14-0 deficit to record a 45-35 win. In the loss, IU recruit D'Angelo Roberts rushed for 213 yards and three touchdowns.

South Dearborn tailback Jesse Adams rolled up 175 yards on a dozen carries and three rushing touchdowns as the Knights defeated Connersville 41-20.

South Centrals Bryant Hoover tossed three touchdown passes and passed for 177 yards as the Satellites defeated Whiting 23-20.

Danvilles Jon Pedigo was 13-of-21 passing for 201 yards with a pair of scores as the Warriors defeated Southmont 31-16.

Floyd Central Kyle Bramble rushed for 232 yards on 26 carries and scored four times in leading the Highlanders to a 38-13 win over Seymour.

Evansville Mater Deis Cody Hess rushed 19 times for 117 yards and scored three touchdowns in the Wildcats' 28-3 win over Evansville North.

Mississinewas Blake Carnall scored six touchdowns as the Indians rolled to a 42-32 win over Frankton.

Eastbrooks Colton Benedict rushed nine times for 165 yards and added two receptions for 47 yards and Jackson Bratcher had six rushes for 100 yards, and a score as the Panthers defeated Alexandria 50-0.

Hobarts Jamar Merritt racked up 221 yards rushing with two touchdowns to lead the Brickies to a 49-0 win over Kankakee Valley.

Pike kicker Taylor Kerr kicked a 55-yard field goal in the Red Devils 37-14 win over Lawrence Central. In the loss Tre Roberson finished with 148 passing yards with a score and 141 rushing yards and touchdown.

Merrillville's Denzel Pierce and Portages Jake Dixon put on a show in the 64th meeting between the two clubs on Friday. Pierce had 258 rushing yards and added 26 receiving yards with three scores. Dixon scored four TDs and had 175 rushing yards.

Martinsville junior quarterback Hayden Northern totaled 267 passing yards with three scores and Hunter Smith added 151 yards as the Artesians defeated Decatur Central 38-28. Michael Callon had six catches for 134 yards for Martinsville.

Indian Creeks Trey Reese connected on 17-of-21 passes for 309 yards with three touchdowns in the Indians 29-17 win over Providence. The Tribes Jordan Jackson had 177 total receiving yards with two TD receptions on the night. Jackson, a senior, also had an 84-yard kick off return for a score.

Chesterton improved to 4-0 on the year as the Trojans defeated LaPorte 37-27 behind the rushing tandem of Nate Majcher and Jon Watson who combined for 200 yards. In a losing effort, LaPortes Nick Latchford rushed 33 times for 245 yards and scored four touchdowns.

Tyler Odle rushed for 173 yards with a score and Aaron Daniel had a combined 222 yards passing and rushing as Charlestown flew past Eastern Pekin 42-30. Daniel, a sophomore, scored twice and threw for another score.

Koby Orris was 14-of-24 passing for 197 yards with four touchdown passes as the Fishers Tigers outlasted Avon in double overtime 41-38. Logan Haston rushed for one score and was 8-for-15 for 181 yards and two touchdowns for the Orioles. Kendall Griffin had five catches for 118 yards and two scores for the Os.

New Havens TeVaughn Hurse rushed for 245 yards and scored a touchdown as the Bulldogs improved to 4-0 on the year as they defeated Carroll (FortWayne). Hurse leads the state with 1,024 rushing yards through the first four weeks of the season.

New Albany's Chris Whitehead gained 101 yards on 18 carries and completed 8-of-11 passes for 163 yards in the Bulldogs 41-34 loss to Bedford North Lawrence. Jalin Forrest added 111 yards on 12 carries, while Scottie Middleton had three catches for 105 yards for the Dogs. BNLs Kraig Smoot ran for 229 yards on 28 carries with three scores and Eric Sowders scored three times for the victorious Stars.

Indianapolis Cathedral QB Connor Barthel was 16-of-20 passing for 191 yards with a score as the Fighting Irish defeated Bishop Chatard 40-14 to claim the Northside Knights of Columbus Club Trophy.

Junior Deionte Buckley rushed 20 times for 264 yards and senior Anthony Davis rolled up 108 yards on 15 attempts as the Warren Central Warriors defeated arch rival Ben Davis 36-0. It was the first time Ben Davis has been shutout since 1985.

Levonte Choice of Ft. Wayne South Side racked up 321 passing yards with three TDs as the Archers defeated Concordia 41-27

Leos Connor Kacsor rushed seven times for 115 yards and scored four touchdowns as the Lions defeated Jay County 59-6.

Kyle Mathewson had 118 rushing yards with four touchdown runs as Churubusco cruised past Eastside 60-28.

Cascades Austin Butler had 183 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Cadets to a 39-26 win over Carroll (Flora). In addition, Alex Arthur added 102 rushing yards and two touchdowns for the Cadets.

Corydon Centrals Seth Rennirt carried the ball 17 times for 135 yards and two touchdowns and Lucas and Jeremiah Windell gained 88 and 79 yards, respectively as the Panthers rushed past Clarksville 48-0.

Cale Roark rushed 18 times for 184 yards with three scores as the Eastern (Greentown) Comets flew past Maconaquah 63-7. Eastern is off to its best start since 1981 and the 63 points they scored against the Braves on Friday was their highest output since 1973.

Lafayette Harrisons 55-14 win over McCutcheon helped the Raiders claim The Traveling Sword trophy from the Mavericks. The Raiders were sparked by Nick Bartolone who was 14-of-22 passing for 222 yards and five touchdowns. Bartolone, a junior, also rushed for 138 yards and scored three touchdowns. After four games, Bartolone has racked up 1,026 total yards for the improved 3-1 Raiders.

Rensselaers Keaton Lyons rushed 19 times for 170 yards and scored three touchdowns and senior teammate Coleton Purevich added 165 rushing yards to lead the Bombers past Tipton 40-20.

Kokomo won its 24th straight North Central Conference game as junior Armon Bridgeforth rushed 19 times for 194 yards with three scores as the Kats beat Huntington North 28-0.

Fountain Centrals Andrew Mitchell rushed for 256 yards with two scores and Tanner Pierce added some much needed help by rushing for 159 yards in the Mustangs 36-7 win over Covington.

Seegers Brandon Ruemler gained 188 rushing yards and Ross Stitt added 108 yards as the Patriots raced past Riverton Parke 29-6.

Lafayette Central Catholics Danny Antwerp returned a punt and a interception for touchdowns as the Knights beat Guerin Catholic 24-0.

Joey Pasquale carried 17 times for 224 yards and two touchdowns as the Noblesville Millers defeated Lafayette Jefferson 37-21.

West Lafayettes Sean Busch threw a school record five touchdown passes Friday night in the Red Devils 61-6 win over Benton Central. Thomas Deranek recorded three interceptions for the Red Devils. The Woodard brothers, Aaron a senior, and Maurice a freshman, combined for 236 yards with three touchdowns. In addition, Aaron rushed for 136 yards on the night.

Union Citys Nick Mangas rushed for three touchdowns and threw for a career high 209 yards with two touchdowns in Union City's 33-8 victory over Tri. Union City is 3-1 on the year and is off to its best start in over 15 years.

Delta running back Zach Overfield rushed for three touchdowns, carrying 28 times for 128 yards as the Eagles flew past Muncie Southside 23-14.

Shenandoahs Zach Cole returned two punts for touchdowns and had a fumble recovery for a score as the Raiders smashed Wes-Del 68-0.

Hagerstowns Chase Patton rushed for 150 yards and scored two touchdowns and Matt Thompson totaled 125 yards on the ground with two touchdowns as the Tigers defeated Northeastern 46-19. Northeasterns Austin Pritchard threw for 203 yards and three scores for the Knights.

Richmonds Steve Jarrett complete 18-of-29 for 215 yards and three touchdowns in the Red Devils' 28-20 loss to Marion. Chandler Miller caught eight passes for 137 yards and two scores for Richmond. Marion was led by Devante Mayo who rushed for 169 yards and three scores.

Brownstown Centrals Tim Bishop rushed for 69 yards with two scores on offense and recorded three sacks for losses of 35 yards, recovered a fumble and recorded a safety on defense as the Braves manhandled Salem 53-0.

Pendleton Heights Dezmon Nunn ran for 204 yards and scored three touchdowns as the Arabians ran over Shelbyville 57-25. The Arabians also had Jacob Lyons (122 yards) and Clint Nicholson (100 yards) eclipse the 100-yard plateau in rushing on the night.
