The Indiana Football Digest Honor Roll for Week 6, 2009

Monrovias Austin Parks rushed 18 times for 260 yards to lead the Bulldogs to a 60-8 romp over Brown County Friday night. Parks averaged 14.4 yards per rush and set a school record with seven touchdowns. In addition, Garrett Johnson rushed for 108 yards for Monrovia (6-0). Parks, a senior, scored on runs of 1, 24, 47, 19, 3, 1, and 34 yards respectively.

Madison Grant junior fullback Neil Stevens rushed 19 times for 201 yards in leading the Argylls to 48-7 win over Elwood.. Madison-Grant dominated the line of scrimmage on the wet field, rushing the ball 60 times for 492 yards and seven touchdowns, including scores on all four first-half possessions and its first six in the game. The Argylls finished with 565 total yards compared to 48 for the Panthers.

Bloomington Norths DAngelo Roberts rushed 23 times for 174 yards and scored three touchdowns in the Cougars 45-14 win over Perry Meridian.

For the first time in program history Eastern Greene won its third game in a season on Friday night. Eastern Greene defeated North Central (Farmersburg) 42-6. Gunnar Porter threw for 189 yards and a touchdown, and ran for 95 yards and a score for Eastern Greene. In addition, Jake Crites rushed 14 times for 128 yards and scored four times.

Deltas Logan Young had seven receptions for 208 yards and a touchdown and Teddy Dawson ran 18 times for 130 yards and a score as the Eagles flew past Pendleton Heights 44-20.

Union Countys Michael Duckworth rushed 38 times for 278 yards with two scores as the Patriots defeated Cambridge City Lincoln 14-12.

Cathedrals Kofi Hughes rushed 21 times for 157 yards and two touchdowns and completed 5-of-12 passes for 168 yards and one TD as the 4A top-ranked Irish defeated Roncalli 55-10.

North Daviess running back Ryan Webster rushed for 169 yards and scored four touchdowns as the Cougars defeated Linton 34-6. The Miners of Linton lost for the first time in 26 games since the Southwest Seven Conference was formed five years ago. Versatile Jano Davis made his presence felt by rushing for 76 yards, going 4-of-4 for 86 yards passing, averaging 36 yards on his punts, booting a couple of extra points and stuffing Lintons run game from his linebacker position. Linton had not lost a regular season game since 2004.

Washingtons Joe McCormick rushed for 170 yards on 21 carries and a touchdown in the Hatchets 42-14 loss to Mt. Carmel (IL).

Whitkos Dakota Harmon rushed for 112 yards on 17 carries and a touchdown in a 34-12 win over Northfield.

Martinsville erased a 25-point third quarter deficit to come from behind to beat Mooresville 40-32. Hayden Northern was 18-of-33 passing with 253 yards and four touchdown passes for the Artesians. Michael Callon hauled in five passes for 114 yards with three scores for the winners. Aric Bigham rushed 23 times for 176 yards and three scores for Mooresville.

For the first time in South Vermilion history, the Wildcats are 6-0 after a 20-2 win over Rockville. Patrick Harpeneau caught two touchdowns from Andy Walsh.

Fort Wayne Souths John Easley scored three touchdowns and rushed for 160 yards as the Archers flew past Elmhurst 44-7.

Ben Davis quarterback William Barksdale went 11-of-14 for 155 yards and two touchdowns as the Giants downed Terre Haute South 50-0. Barksdale also rushed for 74 yards and another touchdown.

Shakir Bell rushed for 202 yards and five touchdowns as Warren Central ran wild over Terre Haute North 73-24. Jamal Bolden also scored three times and rushed for 109 yards to help the Warriors cause.

Penn kicker Alan Sinclair kicked a 45-yard field goal with 1:18 remaining in the fourth quarter to give the Kingsmen a 16-14 win over South Bend Washington. Sinclair connected on two other field goals on the evening, and averaged 45 yards per punt, not to mention making a touchdown saving tackle on the ensuing kickoff after the game winning kick. The Panthers Kyle Henderson recorded half of the teams six sacks.

Cardinal Ritters Michael Timko rushed for 191 yards and scored three times as the Raiders ran roughshod over Park Tudor 42-9. In addition, junior running back Khary Ferguson added 107 rushing yards and senior quarterback Ross Hendrickson threw for 137 yards and four touchdowns.

Lakelands Chris Smith rushed for 119 yards and three touchdowns as the Lakers remained unbeaten with a 55-0 win over Eastside.

Michael Lewis rushed for a touchdown, recovered a fumble for a score, and returned a kickoff 67 yards for a score to pace Tippecanoe Valley to a 63-0 win over Wabash.

Beech Grove running back Kyle Cruz, rushed for 179 yards in leading the 5-1 Hornets pas Heritage Christian. The Hornets are off to their best start in over twenty years!

Perry Centrals T.J. Hall rushed 10 times for 177 yards and three touchdowns, and Mikey Wilkerson ran seven times for 102 yards and scored four times as the Commodores raced past Wood Memorial 49-2.

Winamacs Eric Sass rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown as the Warriors downed West Central 48-6.

Fishers quarterback Alex Hines completed his first seven passes and senior tailback Tommy Huser ran for three first-half touchdowns and 128 yards on the way to a 44-7 win over McCutcheon.

Northviews Trent Lancaster rushed for two scores and threw for two others as the Knights defeated the Vincennes Alices 54-17. Lancaster racked up 295 yards of offense for the 5-1 Knights.

Fairfield QB Darin Hochstetler rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown, plus threw for a score as Fairfield picked up a pair of fourth quarter scores to down Angola 29-14. In a losing effort, Angola quarterback Alex Bauer was 19-of-32 passing for 278 yards.

Mitchells Dorian Cash rushed for 225 yards, scored four touchdowns and kicked four extra points as the Blue Jackets buzzed past Tecumseh 34-15.

Michigan Citys Adam Harmon rushed for 211 yards and scored all three Wolves touchdowns in a 21-13 win over Lake Central.

Southern Wells senior running backs Jacob Miller (91yards) and Tyler Roush (88 yards) and junior halfback Kyle Jones (149 yards) combined to lead the Raiders ground attack, which gobbled up 363 yards, as the Raiders rushed past Bluffton 41-13.

Dylan Patricks two fourth quarter touchdown runs gave Kankakee Valley a 34-24 Homecoming win over North Judson.

Leos Connor Kacsor rushed 14 times for 196 yards as the Lions defeated Heritage 21-6.

Warsaws duo of Andy Conrad (172 rushing yards, two touchdowns) and Justin Clemens (two touchdowns) led the Tigers to a 28-21 win over Goshen.

A banged-up Anthony Yoder showed few ill-effects as he went 18-of-27 for 289 yards and four touchdowns as Concord claimed the Cable Line Cup once again with a 34-14 win over Jimtown. Logan Draus was the main beneficiary with seven catches for 143 yards and a pair of TDs.

Plymouth remains unbeaten with a 48-7 win over Wawasee. Spencer Schalliol rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns.

Klay Fiechter of Norwell rushed for 271 yards and three touchdowns on 36 carries, including scoring bursts of 12, 83, and 53 yards to lead the Knights past East Noble 31-22. Tyler Truax of East Noble rushed for 165 yards on 21 carries in the loss.

The NorthWood defense stood strong and stopped a Northridge two-point conversion attempt in overtime to win 28-27. Coy Brown had 107 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns for the victorious Panthers.

Zach Corpe did everything for Elkhart Memorial Friday night. Corpe rushed for 174 yards and two scores, returned a punt for a TD, and had two interceptions on defense as the Chargers won a 29-26 contest over South Bend Clay.

Culver Academys Zach Deery had three touchdowns in a thrilling 32-31 double overtime win over Glenn.

New Prairies Nathan Wells rushed for 185 yards and a touchdown, and teammate Dave Siddall carried 13 times for 119 yards and a pair of scores in a 40-22 win over Triton.

In a 20-14 loss to Culver, Knox running back Jimmy Krause had 113 yards and a touchdown.

Heritage Hills senior Cody Schmitt hit 7-of-10 passes for 152 yards and four touchdowns as the Patriots beat Gibson Southern 41-0.

Mishawakas Gary Brooks rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns in their 48-14 win over Elkhart Central to remain perfect on the season.

Triton Central junior Brad Mohr rushed 24 times for 167 yards and three touchdowns during the Tigers 45-14 win.

Seymours Stephen Manning rushed 29 times for 105 yards and a touchdown in the Owls 27-24 win over Brownstown Central.

Richmonds Steve Jarrett led Richmond to a 28-14 comeback win over Marion with a 15-of-27 254 yard performance. Jarrett threw for three touchdowns and a two-point conversion. Chandler Miller had five catches for 128 yards and a touchdown.

Logansport's tandem of Wilmer McGill, who rushed for 148 yards and a touchdown, and teammate Derrick McQuiston, who rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown, helped the Berries in their 46-8 romp over Anderson.

Boonvilles Kyle Whitten rushed 29 times for 152 yards and scored four touchdowns as the Pioneers defeated Mount Vernon 40-28.

Centerville quarterback Jacob Stewart went 14-of-22 for 323 yards and six touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs to a 71-0 rout of Northeastern. Matt Schauss recorded four total touchdowns.

Larry Chain rushed for 255 yards and a touchdown during Southwoods 40-14 win over North Miami.

Andreans offense exploded in a 28-0 win over Highland. Quarterback Richard Schmidt went 10-of-14 passing for 221 yards and a pair of touchdowns, one going to Mike Skinner who had four other catches for 129 yards, and running back Robert Saltanovitz added 107 yards and a score.

Brad Mohr rushed for 167 yards on 23 carries to lead the Triton Central Tigers past South Decatur 45-14.

North Montgomerys quarterback Clayton Dale was 10-of-11 passing for 246 yards with touchdown passes as the Chargers defeated Western Boone 41-14. The Chargers Ricky Langford hauled in two touchdown passes and had an interception on defense.

Kraig Brittain was the workhorse for Madison in their 39-38 overtime win over New Albany. Brittain trounced through the mud 34 times for 187 yards and scored three touchdowns including the tying score in overtime, allowing Zach Zehren to convert the clinching PAT.

Jaspers Taylor Day rushed 11 times for 103 yards and Austin Ahrens hit 9-of-12 passes for 140 yards and three touchdowns as the Wildcats defeated Princeton 46-6 to improve to 6-0 on the year. The Wildcats limited the Tigers (1-5, 0-3) to 34 yards rushing.

Bishop Noll recorded their first shutout win since 2006 after blanking Calumet 6-0. Scott Upshaw had the touchdown, rushing for 132 yards on the night.

Chesterton running back Jon Watson tallied 144 yards and four touchdowns in a 31-28 win over Portage. Portage quarterback Zach Huston passed for 162 yards and rushed for 126 yards in the loss.

Frankforts Dylan Timmons scored three touchdowns and rushed for 176 yards as the visiting Hot Dogs rolled over Danville 35-7.

Hammond Clark QB Micah Rooke passed for 251 yards and three scores to lead the Pioneers to a 56-6 win over Bowman Academy.

West Lafayette QB Daniel Wodicka passed for 134 yards and rushed for an additional 104 yards and a score to keep the Red Devils unbeaten with a 21-7 win over Rensselaer. In the losing effort, Justin Bohannon rushed for 124 yards.

Lowell senior Brandon Grubbe became the Red Devils all-time leading rusher after totaling 191 yards and four touchdowns in Lowells 35-0 win over Hobart. Grubbe broke Mike Picketts record which had stood since the 1994 season. Pickett serves as an assistant coach at Hobart.

Despite a rough start to the game, Lafayette Central Catholic quarterback Chris Mills was 10-of-15 for 191 yards and three touchdowns in the Knights 70-0 win over Tri-Central. Tom Almond finished the game with 109 receiving yards, 45 rushing yards and four total touchdowns.

Evansville Memorials Grant Gribbins was 15-for-19 for 292 yards with three touchdowns and ran for another score in leading the Tigers to a 47-24 win over Mater Dei 47-24 at Reitz Bowl. Mater Dei quarterback Dane Maurer completed 11-of-22 passes for 262 yards and three scores in the loss. Matt Coudret was Mauers top target, with four receptions for 200 yards and two scores.

Broad Ripples Brandon Gordon intercepted three passes as the Space Pioneers rocketed past Northwest 28-12.

Denzel Pierce rushed for 202 yards and scored three times to lead Merrillville to an impressive 31-0 win over LaPorte.

Tipton's Tanner Langley carried 29 times for 106 yards to lead the Blue Devils to a 20-12 win over Clinton Central. The Bulldogs got 100 yards on nine carries from Cody Cannaday.

Morton running back Kayln Aaron totaled 270 yards of offense with two touchdowns in the Governors 35-14 win over Hammond.

Valparaisos backfield tandem of Nick Thompson (168 yards, four touchdowns) and Michael Perkins (166 yards, three touchdowns) powered the Vikings to a 56-21 win over Crown Point in a battle for the County Seat Trophy.

Sheridans Eric Price had 36 carries for 210 yards and a touchdown as the Blackhawks defeated the host Delphi Oracles 21-7.

Southmont (4-2, 3-1 SAC) tied its school record for the most conference wins set in 2003 and moved into a four-way tie atop the Sagamore Athletic Conference standings. Southmont, North Montgomery, Lebanon and Western Boone each have 3-1 records and are tied with three conference games remaining.

Whitings Matt Aponte passed for 252 yards and Juwan Simmons had five receptions for 102 yards and a score, and also returned a kickoff for a touchdown in the Oilers 23-12 win over North Newton.

Hamilton Southeastern quarterback Chris Sanders rushed for 110 yards and threw for 97 more as the host Royals upended Westfield 49-7. Matt Ripp rushed for 104 yards on sixteen carries to lead the Royals to their fifth win of the season.

The Reitz starting offensive unit scored eight touchdowns in eight offensive possessions as the Panthers rolled by Evansville Central 55-7. Panther star Matt McIntosh was brilliant rushing six times for 138 yards and two scores. McIntosh, a junior, also was 12-of-16 passing for 115 yards with four touchdown passes. The Panthers improved to 6-0 on the campaign.

In a 35-12 loss to New Palestine, Yorktown QB Kyle Weiss passed for 197 yards and sophomore Brendon Barnes had seven catches for 107 yards and a touchdown.

South Adams Taylor LeFever rushed 27 times for 213 yards with two scores as the Starfires defeated Adams Central 21-7. LeFever, a junior tailback, has now rushed for over 750 yards in six games this season.

The Cass backfield of Josh Knutson and Darrick Worden led the Kings to a 26-14 win over Eastern (Greentown). Worden rushed for 96 yards and three touchdowns, and Knutson carried 17 times for 127 yards. The Kings improved to 3-3 and 3-1 in the Mid-Indiana Conference.

New Palestines Michael Phelps rushed 12 times for 142 yards and scored four touchdowns as the Dragons upended Yorktown 35-12.

Harrison (West Lafayette) quarterback TK Rock went 11-of-23 for 262 yards and a pair of touchdowns, including a 48-yarder with 58 seconds to play in the Raiders' 28-24 comeback upset win over Zionsville.

Bloomington South quarterback Joey Forney was 18-of-31 passing for 284 yards with three touchdown passes as the visiting Panthers defeated Lawrence Central 33-21. Tre Roberson rushed for 207 yards on 21 carries in a losing effort for the Bears.

Braxton Shelton may have only rushed for 41 yards, but fellow classmates Casey Shipley and Dylan Green picked up the slack in Kokomos 40-16 win over Huntington North. Green accounted for 147 yards and two touchdowns and Shipley rushed for 173 yards and a touchdown.

Darren Oliver of Avon racked up 145 yards on only seven carries and scored two touchdowns as the Orioles flew past Noblesville 35-14.

Columbus East quarterback Gunner Kiel tossed five first-half touchdown passes as the host Olympians defeated visiting Floyd Central 42-17 on Friday night. Kiel had scoring tosses of 22, 16, 10, 23 and 12 yards before halftime. Kiel finished 14-of-18 passing for 273 yards. Receiver Shane Henderson had five receptions for 110 yards and three scores for the Olympians.

Jeffersonvilles Taylor Magnuson rushed for a career-high 226 yards on 35 carries as the Red Devils defeated Providence 19-14 in the 50th meeting all-time between the two Southern Indiana schools.

Western's Jake Askren rushed for 127 yards and three touchdowns in a 46-0 win over Peru.

Zach Copas rushed for 182 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Hamilton Heights' 42-12 win over Taylor. In the losing effort, Austen Conwell carried 23 times for 129 yards with two touchdowns.

Michael Hubbard rushed for 208 yards and scored two touchdowns as the Speedway Sparkplugs raced past Cascade 47-0.
