Sunday- Noon! There is a different mood this year as we head southwest to the NAIA II National tourney. I get the impressions from the team- that this time around they are here to WIN! Last years group at times seemed just happy to be here! After winning the NCCAA National title two winters ago- there seems to be a NEW and exciting attitude among this group of young men!Sunday: We arrived around 10:30 or so in Branson, MO! The Cardinal bus was loaded with all the bells and whistles- Direct TV, WiFi and plenty of leg room made the trip much more enjoyable than the Bethel buses we travel to and fro during the conference season!
One of the great things about this group of boys is they are real personable and very caring group. The boys at my request passed along a tablet in which they each wrote a note to my son Randall Ryan Condry who left three weeks ago to honor us all as a member of the United States Marine Corps.
Here are a few excerpts-
Randall; It takes a real man to be able to do what you do. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be able to do the things I do- God Bless, Joey Welch
Randall:WOW, Right now I'm thinking about all the hard practices I have had and how they are just the tip of some of what your going thru. One thing to remember is that God is your strength and you can always call on HIM to carry you through whatever. William Walker
There are a dozen or so- Point is, what an amazing group of young men they have grown into! No matter what transpires this week here at Hard Work U- these guys are winners and someday are going to be great fathers, husbands, employees, business owners and friends. To me that is what high school and college sports is all about Life lessons taught-life lessons learned! Go Pilots!
