The Chicago Bandits currently lead the National Pro Fastpitch standings with a record of 16-10, followed closely by the Akron Racer, who are one-half game back with a mark of 15-10. The USSA Florida Pride are in third place, two games back at 14-12.
The Bandits have the top three hitters in the NPF with third baseman Stacy May (Iowa) leading the league at .398, followed by catcher Rachel Folden (Marshall) hitting at .394, and centerfielder Emily Friedman checking in at .361. First baseman Samantha Findlay (Michigan) and May lead the league with seven home runs each, while Folden follows close behind with six round-trippers on the campaign. May leads the league in RBI's with 18, and Folden has driven in 16 for the second spot in the league RBI race.
The Bandits pitching staff has been on fire lately, as the the team's ERA has fallen to only 2.77. Jennie Finch {Arizona} (3-1, 1.00 ERA 41 strikeouts in 28 innings pitched), Kristina Thorson {Cal-Berkeley} (6-2, 2.09, 36 stikeouts in 47 innings pitched), and Eileen Canney {Northwestern} (1-3, 2.89 ERA, 31 strikeouts in 36 innings pitched), have led the pitching staff for Chicago.
